Are you, or your children sports enthusiasts?

DO YOU LIKE A CHALLENGE  – Are you, or your children sports enthusiasts? If so, would you like to see more sports facilities on the village recreation ground; an all weather 5 a side pitch, or cricket nets, for example’

If the answer to the above questions is yes, would you be prepared to help achieve such objectives?

The Parish Council, in conjunction with the Village Hall Management Committee, is forming a small group to raise funds for the future development of the playing field. This is a major project which we believe will bring significant benefits to our community.

However, while we can obtain some funding from the Borough Council as a consequence of the new housing developments, we will still need to raise money from other sources, such as ‘Sport England’. This will require a long term and co-ordinated fund raising effort on the part of the community.

To kick start the process we are holding a public meeting on Monday 9th January in the Village Hall Committee Room, commencing at 7.30pm to identify the level of support for our proposals and, hopefully, recruit sufficient volunteers to get the project off the ground.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would still like to help please register your interest by e mail to, or Tel: 01284 820994
